The Trial of James Warnock in the Raped and Murder of Lucy
James Warnock has been found guilty of the rape and murder of Lucy. He was sentenced to at least 25 years in prison for murder and 20 years for rape. Judge Nicholas Hillard QC said that Lucy had endured a terrible, idyllic knife point before she was killed in a way that was cruel, brutal and without mercy. Her family broke down in tears as they were told their sister's killer would be 'passing through gates of hell' The judge also praised her father for insisting on regular meetings with police to keep the case alive. His sentence means that Warnock is likely to die in jail.
