The Problem With Gritty Tomb Raider

I prefer gritty because I like the rebooted video game series. The problem with gritty Tomb Raider is that Tomb Raider is fundamentally also silly, right? There's like magic and shit. And it should have been a corny as shit treasure hunting movie. It's not like the Fast and Furious movies are any different now,. Where it's that version of action where there's no stakes because everything is so cartoony.
