Is Social Media the Bad Boy?
I wonder why social media are different from some of these other things that we know are dangerous too. People just don't get riled up about them because they're free and, you know, on everybody's phone. I think sometimes there's a line from the companies that says, well, you can't even talk about regulating us until you come up with an analogy to justify it. They say, well, it can't be cars because how do you can't regulate cars like that? And this social media is it's its own thing. It's a very specific form of harm, but it's also harm that is getting close to universal in the world.
