The Ancient Understanding of Elements

Paul is talking to, he's not talking to Jews who are well versed in the Torah and Pentateuch. But there is something that we might consider an elemental spirit which would be some sort of non-material being. Or maybe some other category of spiritual being that we're just less aware of. Then are referenced in scripture, but not necessarily explicated fully.
