The Importance of Recognizing Faces
There's even more specific association areas that would allow us to identify, say, faces or motion. And so again, it comes down to identifying these regions based on people that have had lesions or damaged parts of the brain where they essentially lose the ability to recognize faces. Even motion, even has seeing as motion blindness, where they essentially aren't able to see things moving. They just see them in sort of separate pictures. So instead of seeing a fluid image, what do they say? They would see two separate images separated by time.
