The Scottish Government's Trying to Keep the Debate on the Legal Arguments
This is like a hard, unionist approach from the UK government. They're being very assertive about how they think rights should work across the UK. I think Nicola Sturgeon's quite happy that we're having a fight about the Constitution because it enables the S&P to continue repeating. It sort of makes you think that they don't want to make this into a culture war or dividing line straight away. The Minister for Equality's Kemi Badanok has been quite quiet,. It's almost like they're keeping her back from this debate.
