One of the main issues with sepsis in maternal care is that unfortunately, the surgery criteria don't necessarily aren't ethical to pregnant patients for a number of reasons. So oftentimes they're not diagnosed until it's too late, now they're in sepsis. And then of course, postpartum infections are related to mainly like surgical site infections, unfortunately. But I guess our role is to be aware of these infections and try to keep our eye out so we can help resuscitate and care for these patients.
