How to Keep From Going Insane
On the ship I had plenty of company. It was a crew of 28 guys from East Asia and we didn't necessarily speak to each other in the same language. There were five Filipinos who spoke English. We had, Rolly and I had had people we could socialize with. But once I jumped and they brought me on to the shore afterwards, then it was solitary confinement. And that's where I had to actually guard against going insane. So I feel like I would try to learn Somali or try to study a language, that language something or my brain would just rust.
