I Was a Playwright and I Was Never a Full-Time Writer
"I always knew that I was never going to make a living as a playwright," he says. "It wasn't until I moved to Los Angeles and sold my first TV show and got into the WGA that you know I was getting paid to write something felt like oh I'm a screenwriter." The struggle to name myself as a writer as a playwrights was hard but it's easier for him to call himself a TV writer, writes Judd Apatow. He still has an internal analog about his early days in San Francisco where he worked at Pixar before moving to LA.
