The original plan was to use cemotherapy to shrink charley's tumour, and then surgeons would remove just the remaining lump. But cases of coronivarus exploding across the country led to a change of plan. Instead of having just the lump taken out, she had a mistectome to remove the whole breast. Covid was a contributing factor to that decision but not the sole reason. There was more chance of getting a successful clear margins surgery with the location of the lump in the size of my breast through mesectome than lump ectomy.
