The Role of Education in Schooling

I was really interested and quite pleased when you sort of explained how mixed in a lot of ways these areas were that kind of all had the same skill. So I was wondering if you could tell us about what role skills and education played in creating some sort of unified feeling of identity and belonging given this London backdrop. You've got extremes of wealth, obviously not all of those children are going to the elementary schools but they tend to stay at the same school until 14. Secondary schools charge fees so that you don't get free secondary education in Britain until after the second World War. There's still this big variety of children from different backgrounds and so on coming and thinking about how schools created those feelings
