The Pros and Cons of the 2003 Sexual Events Act

In law, rape can only be perpetrated by someone with a penis. But it does cover non-consensual penetration of the vagina, the anus and the mouth. And outrageously, you know, those kinds of sexual assault are also very common experiences. The 2003 Sexual Events Act is an extremely progressive piece of legislation compared to what we had before in England and Wales. It defines consent as when someone agrees by choice and has the freedom and capacity to make that choice.
