Transformers Toy Lines

The Transformers toy line was inspired by various Japanese toy lines, namely ones by Takara. Mark Fowler: The FCC would change how toys were sold in the United States and dictate a lot of people's childhoods. And that's important for the Transformers cartoon and what that would turn out to be. We'll talk a little bit about the split between Marvel Comics and Marvel Productions later in this episode.
