According to Fesi, Pompey lost his nerve and was an uncertain leader. Within a few days of Caesar's crossing he ordered his supporters and soldiers to flee Rome. The rest of the war, including battles in Spain and the final battle in Farsalus, in 48 BC, is only mentioned in passing.
