Funez has been thrust into a position where he can forget nothing. And that's why he's borrowing these Latin books because all he has to do is flip through the primer once and now he can speak Latin. He spends his days asleep and his nights in the dark maybe reading by candlelight or whatever. That's all he does because any more exposure to anything is too much.
