The Importance of Telemedicine in Abortion
If Kessmarik's ruling were to hold, that actually affects the way many women in states that have no abortion restrictions would get access to an abortion. People just may want the choice to end their pregnancies this way by inducing a miscarriage rather than what's known as a procedural abortion, which happens inside of the clinic. These are also pills that can be done through telemedicine. What they understand is that these pills provide people with options and with privacy. That is a form of liberation that threatens to undercut all of the restrictions that they have put into place.
