The Origins of Yellow Fever in Africa
Virus was circulating in the forests of central and western Africa, thousands of years ago. One day it made its way into a new host, a human host. It caused utter devastation, wiping out huge numbers of mammal population until it couldn't be sustained. Europeans and Native Americans were also super susceptible to the illness,. resulting in death rates five to seven times higher than those born in Africa during outbreaks.
