A group of EA nerds formed a trading firm called Alameda. In doing so, they came down on one side of probably the biggest split within the crypto community. The core of the idea that's not bad, that exists within cryptocurrency is that decentralized state controlled money has problems. Most people don't want to go through that pain in the ass and put all of their crypto currency into what are effectively crypto banks.
