Is There a Difference Between Game Engines and App Engines?
In apps, algorithms are one of these rare exceptions to the don't think about performance upfront kind of rule. In games, you have a game engine that will be the low level mechanism that drives the game. And then on the higher level, you have different kind of scripts or game logic that uses the engine to build the game. So I also feel like it's could be very valuable in apps, not create an explicit app engine, but to view your algorithms as a kind of underlying lower level layer that you then build on top of. That's again, where performance really matters,. You want to make sure that that lower layer takes up as little of your performance budget as possible so they
