The Clean Room at the Global Foundries Complex
The clean room is where chips are sent before they leave the plant. Even nanoparticles of dust can cause them to malfunction, so it's incredibly delicate. It means absolutely nothing from the outside world, including recording equipment, is allowed in. "It feels more like a hospital than a semiconductor plant," says CEO Jens Sorensen.
