It is true that for the longest time, a the studios and theatres had been negotiating about the theatrical window. Many a studios, like paramount being a big example, pushed a ton of their movies back. At least warner brothers committed to putting these movies on theatres theatre. But e ye, as a consumer, it felt like a glimpse of the future where, like, there is no window, and you can just ax us anything all the time.
