Real Estate: Is There Any Way to Make Money Through a Short?

The only way to really effectuate a short would be through the public markets, shorting securities. Is not a big part of our business to day. We try to thin about which sectors or strategies or jurisdictions have a higher regulatory risk than others. There are times when the lack of regulatory hurdles makes those asset classes easier to navigate and invest in. Conversely, there are sectors that prove more challenging. You've got to take into account that uncertainty in terms of how you think about the risk profile of investing in those sectors. Or geographies. Wide range in terms of regulation across geographies, both within us.
