The Ecumenical Council Vindicates Maximus, Right?
The six ecumenical council vindicates maximus that does officially, and I don't think it's hard to see ecumenical now, what counts as an ecumenicalCouncil. And he actually explicitly questioned about what makes a synodal or a credal definition true. He says that the reason why these things are true is because it is in so far as they disclose what just is or who he who is the truth. But Augustine himself would seem to say that what makes the councils ratification true is simply the truth.
