If you were DeSantis, wouldn't you wait to see how this plays out? If he doesn't get convicted and it just raises his popularity with his base, you better stay out. Mike Pence did the stand-up, correct thing for the country. I don't want him to be my president, but as a human, he does set a good example because he defended Trump. He said it was just political charges. So now, I don't think it'll have any difference. The only difference will be that Trump got a fundraising boost. And it may freeze descent to Santa the primaries.
