Is It Time to Periodize the Land Work?

Sprint sprinters get injured a little bit more than distance guys or middle-distance guys, because the injuries always come from the weight room. We periodize with Mark Acosta, we periodize the strength training more than the sprint work. The idea is you've got to get them healthy and to the end of the cycle in good shape for the championship meet. Because the margins are so small now, if there's a bump along the way, it becomes more and more challenging. Periodization has to be kind of seasonal right now.
