Paleontologists do have a perspective that's valuable again it doesn't answer moral questions but it's a perspective namely that the world has been here four and a half billion years humans only for a couple hundred thousand we've occupied the earth with some tiny fraction of one percent of its total time. The notion that environmental concerns must exist because we're somehow going to blow up the earth i don't think this is true. We can kill ourselves and the planet will co-op on its own time scale two million years down the road which is inconceivable for us, he says.
