The Influence of Syncretism on the Hebrews

I don't recall Dr. Breyer saying that belief in life after death arose from finding mummified bodies in sand dunes. In terms of cross pollination of ideas, it is not impossible that God used the Egyptian belief in resurrection to influence Hebrew thought on the subject. There can be an influence here, but I don't have good evidence for that. So this is speculative.
