The Importance of Industry Expertise in Product Design
I'm split about it. Having that more general, loose definition of a design system definitely makes sense because it is inherently a system. It's a set of contracted rules that you're abiding by. But I think people generally understand products and product need and market fit without using those words. If they make lemonade taste bad, no one will buy it from their lemonade stand. What do they need to do? Add sugar. Those are fundamental product design concepts. There might be some education there. And that's where that industry expertise gives you a major advantage in all that.
