Hanks talked about how he learned more about the character of Colonel Tom Parker, who he was playing in the Elvis production. He said Hanks just learned more and read more around him, and got in touch with Basler, and just said, we've got this guy wrong. And they had the space and the time to rework the film and torework the portrayal of that particular character.
