The first black person to earn his PhD in America was a guy named Edward Boucher at Yale University. In 1996, the voters of California passed prop 209, which ended affirmative action. The people of California had an opportunity to bring affirmative action back to California universities and it failed 57 to 42. This is a post George Floyd era.
