List's Confession to the Pastor
John List left Liss House in Westfield, New Jersey on November 10, 1971. The next morning he drove to JFK Airport and with $2,500 and one suitcase disappeared from his own life. After placing John Jr. in the ballroom with the rest of his family, List sat down and wrote a confession to his pastor. He then piped funeral music at top volume through the intercom system in the house.
