The Baku: A Friendly Yokai

The Baku is not listed in Borhay's The Book of Imaginary Beings. Stories of the creature originated in China going at least as far back as a poetry collection from the year 834. According to this text the Baku has nose of an elephant, eyes of a rhinoceros, tail of an ox and legs of a tiger. It would not be incorrect to say this monster looks like snuffle up a guess he had the imaginary friend of Big Bird from Sesame Street.
