Zen and the Art of Archery
Diti suzuki was part of a late nineteenth century, early twentieth century reconsideration of the zen tradition. All japanese buddhist groups came up with ways to contribute to the nationmodernization, nationalization and t eventually military effort - i'm not sure there was anything distinctly zen about that. There is no place within official zen ideology to really talk about how, say, following moral precepts contributes to enlightenment.
