How to Succeed as a Writer

When management comes on board, they want to know what your potential is as a writer. The first mistake that I see writers make left and right is taking a script out there before it's ready. Every screenplay that gets out there gets to any company, goes into the coverage pile. But when you're an unknown, you really can't afford to just get the material out there because you feel really good about it.
