La Mineria, or the Mining Industry, by Lartista Grace

Lartista Grace wanted to call attention to the injustices she witnessed miners or mineros, risking their lives for low pay. She painted it in 19 35 after she visited a mining town in the nearby state of idalgo. The mural is so big it covers multiple walls. It shows bare chested miners excavating metals like silver or plata. Then those metals are melted down into money and weapons, or armas. But these socially conscious artists had their own ideas about what to paint.
