Alexei Ivanov was a Russian computer hacker who moved to the United States in 1999. He used his hacking skills to get jobs, but no one would hire him because of his criminal past. A U.S. cybersecurity startup offered Alexei a job if he could hack their system and steal credit card information. The company didn't even know they were working with an ex-hacker until after it happened.
