The Second Klan: A Bizarre Digression
The second Klan was largely Midwestern. 40% of their membership in the early 20s was in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Jonah Goldberg didn't really know what to do with them. So he's like, well, they weren't that racist. And also maybe they were liberal. I don't know. It's just it's sort of a bizarre digression in this book.
