Keeping People Away From Cars Is a Good Idea
In 2002, pedestrians made up 11% of US traffic fatalities. Ten years later, the share of pedestrian death was 14%. One clue may lie in this fact: 73% of US pedestrian deaths occur in cities. Maybe one good solution is just to keep pedestrians away from cars entirely.
