Is the HIMBA Going to Continue?

One theory about double descent is that it's actually sort of a state of what we call disequilibrium. The idea is that maybe they're in the process of actually flipping from matrilineal to patriline. As you get more influx of the cash economy, things are going to change because if you've got cash in your pocket, right, if you sell your cash, you have cash. So as you start to see more market integration, my guess is that they are going to continue just to progress toward a system of more patrilineal inheritance.
