Is Philosophy Progressing?

I don't think this is the philosopher for an ordinary reader, if philosophy is a narrative as a story. There are more philosophers alive to day profess philosophers than there have ever been in the history of humanity. The really weird thing is that, if you look at the golden ages of philosophy, like athenian philosophy in the fifth century b c, or eighteenth century france and england,. there seem to be more brilliant thinkers per capita than to day. In terms of the kind of philosophy that most interests me, i suppose, the moral and political philosophy....
