Malls are changing and being used in different ways often by vulnerable populations. Deborah spent a lot of time at one particular mall for her research, Morningside Mall in Scarborough. In 2001, the East Scarborough storefront, they took over a kind of space that was no longer rented to provide job search services. They located them all in 2001, 2003, the Walmart closes. And again, this is a kind of, this has now been kind of documented as a Walmart strategy. It's not a small act at all. We started to see the, you know, increasingly like empty stalls in the mall.
