The Illusion of the Self
The self as most people conceive of it is an illusion. I think we want to distinguish between the whole person and illusions. Most people are walking around with a sense that they have a self inside their heads. We don't find anything like that in the brain. How does this robust sense of selfhood emerge? Because that is really counterintuitive, right?
