I'm a big believer that marketing is what gives you permission to turn down clients and to be their fiduciary before they even hire you. Marketing allows you to be a better consultant because you can also relax during your engagement. You're not trying to cling on to leads or clients for too long past their due date. LinkedIn has been a game changer as far as my business concern, opening up opportunities beyond Canada I never would have had before COVID when I didn't use LinkedIn very much.
