"We're coming to a period where ships are going to get sunk. And people are going to die in large numbers," he says. "I think that's the same reality that even those who have been involved in combat Southwest Asia are going to have to come to grips with." The U.S. Navy has not lost a heavy cruiser since World War II, and most of the crew died because no one knew they were sunk.
