Many of these products are presented as healthier than dairy. Clever marketing pictures this, but actually there's no research to pack up these claims. If we take rice milk, for example, rice milk contains very little protein, very little calcium and lots more carbohydrate than cow's milk. Oat milk doesn't contain a lot of the beneficial structural components that macos good when we eat them outside of their milk matrix.
Vegan diets are increasingly popular. As more of us reduce our animal product consumption, countless new meat and dairy alternatives appear on our supermarket shelves. Manufacturers market these products as healthy options (unsurprisingly), but perhaps we shouldn’t be so quick to trust them…
