The chapter narrates the daring escape of a man who parachuted out of a hijacked plane with money tied to his leg, successfully landing and making his way to civilization. However, his actions lead to his arrest by the FBI, resulting in a conviction for federal aircraft piracy and significant consequences in airport security measures.

On the afternoon of June 23rd, 1972, Martin McNally walked into the St. Louis airport with a wig, a sawed-off rifle, and a plan.
