The Importance of Omniscient Point of View in a Story
Young writers don't realize that the point of view in a story is very important. It seems to have been Henry James that really kind of did the limited third person. Any of us who grew up reading 19th century fiction are perfectly at home with what's called omniscient. Often it's simply to spin out suspense by not telling you what the author knows.
