Context Is Helping the Brain Get at What the World Is Like
These things work when there set up particular wis the example that i wall so often uses. It's a l bit like those three dimensional models that people have built of like m c sher paintings, where the water is impossibly moving upwards up this canal and so forth. But those have to be seen from a very specific angle, otherwise you'd see all it's a trick. And i think most visual ilusions work that way. They'realways manipulation s of context in ways that we find weird,. We don't understand that what we see should be influenced by context. Context is helping the brain get at what the world is really like.
