DSA - Is DSA Really a Political Organization?

The membership of DSA frequently has reasonably good political instincts. But they are not able to actually just structurally, they're not able to work their will, right? They can do they can win a victory like getting SDV for the NPC. But as soon as the the convention is over, it's it's the NPC that is actually calling all the shots.
