Cromwell dissolved the entire parliament again in february 16 57. And now he simply openly rules as a dictator with sole governing, legislative and executive powers. So you can see a tremendous irony here in that precise the form of government, sort of absolute rule by a monarch, that had provoked the civil war in the first place.
